On November 23, 2013, Jar Ministries will host Miles for Meds a 10k & 5k to raise money for typhoon relief and medical missions.
The 2nd “Miles for Meds” 5k & 10k Run, Walk, Stroll takes place on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Shoreline Village in Long Beach’s downtown waterfront. This year’s efforts take on an even greater significance in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, which has killed thousands and left tens of thousands of people homeless and without medical care.
Proceeds from “Miles for Meds” will go to immediate typhoon relief as well as medical missions in early 2014. The medical missions will take place in one of the affected areas, currently in a state of calamity with no electricity and is 80% flooded.
